Man City 2-2 Arsenal: Iheanacho & Iwobi Share Spoils As Race For 4th Place Opens Up


Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi were on parade for Manchester City and Arsenal respectively as both sides played out a 2-2 draw at the Etihad on Sunday.

Iwobi who was making his seventh start for Arsenal was on parade for 59 minutes of the Etihad showdown while Iheanacho failed to score for the first time in his last three league appearances for the Cityzens after bagging 70 minutes of action during his sixth start of the 2015/16 EPL campaign.
Sergio Aguero opened the scoring for the hosts with a well-taken strike, but the Gunners hit back within two minutes through Olivier Giroud’s powerful header.

A fantastic solo run from Kevin De Bruyne six minutes after the break resulted in Manchester City’s second after the German beat Petr Cech with a long range effort at his near post but Sanchez leveled matters nine minutes after hour mark for 2-2.
While this match did not have qhuite the significance that many had hoped it would when examining the fixture list at the start of the season, it remained important in the context of the race for the top four.

Manchester United can now overtake Manchester City should they win their remaining two fixtures.
