Harry Redknapp Snubs Nigeria For Australian Job

Former Tottenham Hotspurs manager Harry Redknapp, who was heavily tipped last week for the vacant Super Eagles job is to join Australian side Central Coast Mariners as a consultant, the club have announced.

Redknapp recently had a two-game spell in charge of Jordan, overseeing an 8-0 win over Bangladesh and a 5-1 loss to Australia in Sydney.

The 69-year-old is also acting as an advisor to Derby County, currently fifth in the Championship and with a chance of playing in the Premier League next season via the playoffs.

The Mariners were A-League winners in 2008 and 2012 and are desperate to get back to such height after some not too decent run recently.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria is currently handled by interim manager Salisu Yusuf and are currently preparing for two friendly games against Mali and Luxembourg.
