Former Chelsea star Joe Cole has stated that he rates Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama more than ex-teammates Pepe Reina and Petr Cech.
The 37-year-old was spoke about his favorite five-a-side team long before he retired in 2016 and former Super Eagles of Nigeria goalkeeper Enyeama was the shot-stopper was selected in goal.
Cole played with Cech at Chelsea as they claimed multiple league titles under Jose Mourinho and also Reina at Liverpool.
In a report by TalkSport, Cole hailed the shot-stopper's ability ahead of the more international recognised goalkeepers despite playing just one season with Enyeama at Losc Lille when he was sent on loan to France by Liverpool.
He said, ”I could’ve gone with Petr Cech, David Seaman, Pepe Reina but if we’re talking five-a-side, this guy ( Enyeama) is the best shot-stopper.During his time in Lille, he and Enyeama played in the UEFA Champions League as the Nigerian goalkeeper set a record of clean sheets in the French Ligue 1.
You knew if this geezer was in your team in a five-a-side, you’re winning.
He also picked Arjen Robben and former captain John Terry as part of his five aside.
About Robben said he said, “I think he’s one of the most complete players I’ve ever played with: pace, power, technique, skill, strong character. When he signed for Chelsea, he walked out for training, and obviously, you’re playing in the same position so you think ‘I wonder if he’s any good."
Other members of the team in the attack are Luis Suarez from his Liverpool days and Chelsea star Eden Hazard during his days at Lille.
About Hazard, he said, “He’ll go down as an all-time great. I think he’ll win the Ballon D’Or as well. I saw it from day one. Some of the things he’d do in training, he’d just run through people and you’d think ‘is that luck?’ And it wasn’t, it was just unbelievable feet.”
