There has been no shift in the date for the much talked about Victor Ezeji Testimonial, VET, and this is according to the chairman of the Main Organising Committee, China Acheru.
Acheru told VET media that the event will hold as scheduled on Saturday, January 7, 2017.
“The flights for our guests have been booked, hotel arrangements made already and with the little resources at our disposal, shifting it will not be an option, no matter the circumstances,” Acheru said.
“Some side activities may be removed from the program, but the event will go on as planned,” The chairman said.
“Already, Mutui Adepoju has said he will be in Port Harcourt on Friday while Shehu Dikko, the chairman of the League Management Company has also said he will be in for the game and even captain the Team NPFL side for the match.
“We got a surprise yesterday (Thursday) when first vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Barrister Seyi Akinwummi called to say he will be in Port Harcourt for the event and this tells you the quality of guests coming to honour Ezeji.”
Already, the Rivers State governor, Barrister Nyesom Wike is the Special Guest for the event and will take the opening penalty kick against Imama Amapakabo as Team Ezeji take on Team NPFL.
The event will hold at the Sharks FC stadium from 2.30pm on Saturday, January 7.
