Former Hammer highlights one key factor behind West Ham fan unrest

Paul Konchesky highlighted West Ham's stadium move as key factor behind fan unrest, when speaking to talkSPORT yesterday.

The former Hammers left-back urged the fans to get behind the team, and put their anger with the board to one side for the remainder of the season.

West Ham are in real trouble. They are currently sitting in 18th spot in the Premier League table, and are one point adrift of safety.

David Moyes's men have some really tough games lying in wait too. And as things stand, relegation down to the Championship seems like a very real prospect this season.

The Hammers fans are totally disenchanted with the board. They are angry for a whole number of reasons.

One of the main ones, however, is the lies that they were sold regarding the London Stadium. Things haven't worked out as planned for West Ham in their new home. The atmosphere is terrible, and the seats are a long way from the pitch - something that was promised would not be the case.

And Konchesky suggested the move to the London Stadium has played a big part in current fan unrest, when speaking to talkSPORT:

West Ham is a passionate club. At the moment, the fans are obviously struggling, they’re not doing too great in the league and the owners are always going to get it. We know when they left Upton Park the fans said it wasn’t a good thing from the owners, and now that they’re struggling in the Premier League in the new stadium, the fans are going to have a go for the owners. But they need to get behind them. They’re at West Ham and they’ve put their money in, so we need to back everyone.

Konchesky is right. The West Ham Fans do need to get behind their team. But the point the former Hammer is missing is this: We're behind the team, not he regime.

West Ham fans have been lied to and misled on a consistent basis.

The majority of them are desperate for David Sullivan and David Gold to sell up. The problem is, however, that not many potential buyers would go anywhere near the Hammers at the moment, with relegation staring the club directly in the face.
