'Bossed that midfield' - West Ham teenager earns rave reviews during international break

Conor Coventry enjoyed a profitable international break, helping the Republic of Ireland's U21 side to back-to-back wins. Playing alongside Brighton's Jayson Molumby, the Irish midfield was dominant against Armenia and Sweden.

The Republic of Ireland beat Armenia 1-0 courtesy of Tottenham Hotspur's Troy Parrott. This was followed up by a 3-1 away win in Sweden with Parrott scoring twice and Conor Masterson also getting on the scoresheet.

Coventry was particularly impressive during these two games. Republic of Ireland fans flocked to Twitter to show their appreciation for the tenacious midfielder. There are early signs that he could be a special player.

The 19-year-old has already played twice for West Ham's senior side - both as a substitute in the EFL Cup. But West Ham fans think he could be Declan Rice's future partner in central midfield.

His latest performances certainly highlight his potential. Coventry has covered plenty of ground and is performing well alongside Molumby. Here are some Republic of Ireland fans expressing their feelings about Coventry's exciting display.
