Things are officially starting to get real.
On the heels of their 94-90 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Saturday, the Detroit Pistons are one step closer to clinching their first playoff spot in six years, having whittled their magic number down to three, per NBA.com's Keith Langlois:
#Pistons magic number is now 3. Any comb of 3 wins or #Bulls losses, Pistons are in. Because of tiebreakers, it's same with Wizards.

To clarify Langlois' Twitter-crafted shorthand, the Pistons are in the driver's seat. Any number of Pistons wins and Bulls losses adding up to three will clinch a spot in the postseason.
That said, it's still a logjam near the eight-spot, with four teams battling for two spots. Presently, the Bulls are two games out of the Eighth Spot and two and a half behind Detroit. The Washington Wizards are currently three games back of the eighth spot and 3.5 behind the Pistons.
