Unfortunately, the Detroit Lions will not have a shot at winning the Super Bowl this season. After dropping their Week 16 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Lions (8-7) were officially eliminated from the 2017 NFL Playoffs.

Sure, the Lions won their Week 17 game against the Green Bay Packers but let’s face it, most Lions fans are already looking towards the offseason and how the team can improve before the 2018 regular season begins.
Speaking of the 2018 season, we figured now would be a good time take a look at what the schedule will look like.
2018 Detroit Lions home/away games
|Los Angeles Rams||Arizona Cardinals|
|Seattle Seahawks||San Francisco 49ers|
|New England Patriots||Buffalo Bills|
|New York Jets||Miami Dolphins|
|Carolina Panthers||Dallas Cowboys|
|Green Bay Packers (Div.)||Green Bay Packers (Div.)|
|Minnesota Vikings (Div.)||Minnesota Vikings (Div.)|
|Chicago Bears (Div.)||Chicago Bears (Div.)|
The Lions wrapped up 2nd place in the NFC North after finishing with a 9-7 record. Even if they would have lost to the Packers in the final week, they would have finished 2nd because they had a better division record in comparison to Green Bay.
As you can see by the schedule above, the Lions will play against the 2nd place finisher in the NFC South, the Carolina Panthers. That was the only undecided slot on the schedule but was finalized when the Panthers lost to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17.
With the 2018 home/away opponents settled, the next step will be to wait for the full regular season week-by-week schedule to be announced. That will likely take place sometime in mid-April.
The 2017 regular season schedule was released on April 20th.
