Hockey fans know that the Goaltender scoring a goal is an extremely rare feat. Household NHL names like Martin Brodeur, Ron Hextall, Jose Theodore, and Detroit’s Chris Osgood were all able to accomplish that task during their careers. However, a USHL goaltender decided to get in on the fun and make a name for himself.

Mikhail Berdin of the Sioux Falls Stampede fired the puck the length of the ice into the empty net of the Muskegon Lumberjacks, sealing a victory for the Sioux. However, the 19 year-old goaltender’s celebration was what really made headlines.

Several fist pumps with teammates, getting congratulated on the bench, and adding in a Vince McMahon strut for good measure will always make for a legendary celebration for any hockey player – especially those who are wearing the pillows.

On top of scoring the goal, Berdin 32 saves on the night to improve his record to 6-3-3 on the season with a .933 save percentage and a 2.47 goals-against average.

Berdin is a sixth round pick of the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets, having been selected in 2016. He is also a candidate for Team Russia during the upcoming World Juniors.
