WATCH: Chicago Bears mascot disgusted by field goal miss to send game to OT

On Sunday, the Detroit Lions used a late 52-yard field goal by Matt Prater to escape the Windy City with a 27-24 win. The victory moved the Lions to 6-4 on the season, two games back of the NFC North-leading Minnesota Vikings (8-2) who also won on Sunday afternoon.

Following Prater’s field goal, the Chicago Bears had a chance to send the game to overtime. In fact, all they had to do is convert a 46-yard field goal to tie the game up 27-27.

But, as you will see below, Bears kicker Connor Barth let his nerves get the best of him and he missed by a mile. After watching the miss, replay the video and watch as the Bears mascot cannot believe what he just saw.

Up next for the Lions is their annual Thanksgiving Day game. This year, it will be the Vikings who come to Ford Field, looking to really take control of the NFC North.

Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings Thanksgiving Day point spread revealed

In Week 11, the Detroit Lions (6-4) used a late 52-yard field goal by Matt Prater to beat the Chicago Bears 27-24, while the Minnesota Vikings (8-2) scored 24 unanswered points in an impressive win over the Los Angeles Rams.

On Thanksgiving, the Lions and Vikings will meet at Ford Field in what could be the most important game of the season for both teams. A Detroit win would mean the Lions would only trail Minnesota by one game in the NFC North, while a Vikings win would give them a three-game lead with just five games to play.
