Breaking: Little Caesars Arena worker perishes after falling from catwalk

There is tragic news out of Detroit this morning.

A 46-year-old worker, believed to be an electrician, has passed away after he fell 75 feet from a catwalk at Little Caesars Arena. The accident occurred at around 8 A.M. The man was later pronounced dead at Detroit Medical Center Receiving Hospital.

Detroit Fire Department Deputy Commissioner Dave Fornell provided details of the grim situation.

“A worker fell approximately 75 feet from a catwalk at the new Little Caesars Arena area,” Fornell said. “When we arrived, he was found in cardiac arrest and they did CPR and he was transported to the Detroit Medical Center Receiving Hospital.”

Officials reported that construction has been stopped for the day out of respect for the victim and so that an investigation can get underway.
