Johannes Geis joins Sevilla on loan

Sevilla appear to have a genuine interest in signing Schalke defensive midfielder Johannes Geis this summer.

According to the football transfer rumours in German Media (Bundesliga), Johannes Geis have joined Sevilla on loan.

The Germany international has joined Schalke from 1. FSV Mainz 05 for a fee in the region of 11 million euros in July 2015. The 24-year-old has a valid contract with Schalke until June 2019.

Johannes Geis has played 61 times for Schalke since signing from 1. FSV Mainz 05, scoring 5 goals and creating 8 assists in that time.

The 24-year-old has represented Germany at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 50 caps and scoring 4 goals.

The Germany international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of midfield player Eduardo Berizzo has wanted to target in the summer transfer window.

The Germany international is a player who has impressed many European clubs in the last few seasons, and it is understood that Sevilla manager  would prefer playing him as a defensive midfielder.

According to the report in German Media, Sevilla have announced the signing of Schalke midfielder Johannes Geis on loan with an option to buy. The Andalusians have paid 2 million euros to bring in Geis until the end of this season and can tie him down next summer for 7 million euros.
