U.S. Navy Blue Angels leave Pensacola for winter training at El Centro Naval Air Facility

Enjoy some highlights of the 2017 Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show in Pensacola, Florida. The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are headed to California to start winter training for the 2018 air show season. The team tweeted Wednesday that its maintenance and support team would leave Pensacola Naval Air Station around 10 a.m. today, followed by other members throughout the day. “See you in March, Pensacola! We’re only NINE weeks from the start of the 2018 show season!,” the team posted on Facebook. The Blue Angels will broadcast the departures on Facebook Live. “We’ll be Facebook Live throughout the day as the team departs NAS Pensacola and arrives in El Centro. First hit is around 10 a.m. as the maintenance and support team departs,” the team posted. Lt. David Gardner, public affairs officer for the team, said the six jets are scheduled to leave Pensacola Naval Air Station at noon.
