SMYRNA, TN (WSMV) – A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday in Smyrna for the memorial for Blue Angels pilot Capt. Jeff Kuss. Kuss was killed last year when he crashed during a practice run for the Great Tennessee Air Show. Smyrna leaders have worked to raise more than $1 million to building the permanent memorial. The jet that will be part of the memorial is similar to the one Kuss flew.
