Qatar WC: 4 Key Teams to Look out for

Football fans all around the world are eagerly waiting for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022. The qualification period has passed and the deserving 32 teams have been finalized. This mega event will begin on November 20 and the final is going to be played on December 18.

The world will hold its breath as these 32 teams undergo a series of tough matches for one to be crowned the best in the world. Check out NetBet if you’re interested in betting on your favorite teams.

Listed below are the top 5 teams of the World Cup, one of which will likely win this tournament.

  1. Brazil

Brazil has won more World Cups than any other country. Currently, the Brazilian team is as strong as ever. It has won 28 out of its last 29 matches. Neymar, Júnior, Raphina, Casemiro, and the list of Brazilian stars goes on.

The Captain, Thiago Silva himself will make sure that the Defense stays strong and cut down on any loopholes within their defense. One of the most underrated players, Marquinhos is another defensive asset for Brazil.

Along with the help of Fred, Casemiro will take the lead in the play-making from the middle of the field. Neymar looks determined to pass Pele as the country’s all-time leading goalscorer by scoring three goals in this WC. Neymar will have the support of Jesus and Junior in the forward position.

Be it defense, offense or middle-field, Brazil has it all and it is definitely among the top 4 teams in the World Cup.

  1. France

The defending champions, France, look keen on retaining the trophy this year. However, several of its key players are injured including Pogba and Kante. The team of France will definitely miss the magical play-making of these stars. Center-back, Kimpembe, will also not be playing this World Cup, another major hit to the team.

Nevertheless, the French squad is still among the top teams in the tournament. Ballon d’Or winner, Karim Benzema is in great form, which is apparent from his score streak in the Champions league. Kingsley Coman and Dembele will be the supporting forwards with Benzema.

Aurelien Tchouameni is one of the star midfielders on the team who will be involved in play-making of the game. Rabiot and Guendouzi will also play alongside Tchameni.

The defense of France is just as deadly as its offense. They have Raphael Varane, Theo Hernandez, Kounde, and Benjamin Pavard as the starting defenders. Breaking the defense of France would be very challenging for its opponents.

Having an unbreakable defense and penetrating offense, France is also among the top 4 teams of the World Cup.

  1. Argentina

Argentina has been unbeaten in its last 35 games and if it wins all of its group stage matches, it will break the previous world record of 37 straight unbeaten games. The team has one of the two greatest players in the sport, Lionel Messi.

In 2018, they had to return home after the round of 16 and this is the last World Cup of Messi so his fans are hopeful that he will make it count. Having Lautaro Martinez and Angel Di Maria alongside Messi, Argentina has one of the best forwards in the tournament.

The defense and midfield of Argentina are not as strong though. Midfielder Giova Lo Celso is also injured so he won’t be playing in the tournament, another major setback to Argentina.

  1. Belgium

The Belgian team is considered to be the most complete team in the tournament right now. If they don’t choke this time, this could be the year of Belgium’s ‘Golden Generation’.

Thibaut Courtois and De Bruyne, the stars of the team, are both the midfielders of Belgium. Having Lukaku and Eden Hazard, the forwards are also very dangerous. The bad news for Belgium fans is that Lukaku recently recovered from an injury and may not show up in the WC.
