Madrid’s Ronaldo Disappointed With Messi’s Absence in FIFA Awards

Cristiano Ronaldo continuing his award winning moment as this midweek he was hailed as FIFA Best Men’s player for 2016, but it wasn’t all joyful atmosphere that the Portuguese international felt.

Speaking to the media, Ronaldo admitted that he was slightly disappointed with the Absence of Barcelona players, especially Lionel Messi at that gala.

Although acknowledging that Barca have a Copa Del Rey encounter against Athletic Bilbao next Wednesday, CR7 feels that Messi and co should’ve spent some time to attend it.

Ronaldo himself added that he himself would not going to miss that kind of event if he was invited and especially being picked as one of the nominees.

Moreover, the Real Madrid super star stated that should Messi was the one winning the award, Ronaldo won’t be able to congratulate the Argentinian.

Aside from the Portugal skipper, other Los Blancos players such as Sergio Ramos along with Luca Modric also voiced out their disappointment with Barca players’ absence from that gala.

Barcelona themselves opted to sent their managerial staffs instead, but Andres Iniesta did sent out an apology for their decision in not coming.

The Catalan side seemingly more determined in overcoming Bilbao in Wednesday as Barca were beaten 2-1 in their previous match up.
