Man City Still Winless While Man United Hammered by Chelsea
Manchester City’s difficult moment still remain as Pep Guardioala’s men were not able to get a win as just yet after being held into 1-1 draw by Southampton this weekend.
Keen on bouncing back following their 4-0 midweek defeat in the Champions League, City looking determined in grabbing all three points this Sunday.
However, a defensive error from John Stones put Southampton in front as Nathan Redmond took full advantage of that mistake to give his team the lead.
Man City were able to react well though as they eventually pulled one goal back early in the second half through Kelechi Iheanacho’s effort.
Unfortunately, Guardiola’s side were not able to go on and win that game, forcing them to suffer their fifth game without a win in all competition.
Meanwhile, a worse result happened to another Manchester team, as United under Mourinho got themselves trashed by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Receiving a warm welcome from the crowd, Jose Mourinho didn’t get to smile too much as his team immediately conceded after just 30 seconds through Pedro’s finish.
Things got worse for United on 21 minutes as Chelsea double their advantage, this time from Gary Cahill’s thumping shot inside the penalty area.
Man United tried to get themselves back into that game, but found themselves in deeper trouble midway into the second half when Eden Hazard scored a lovely third goal for Antonio Conte’s team.
Mourinho’s woe got deeper when N’golo Kante netted The Blues’ fourth with a lovely solo effort, wriggling his way through United’s defense before comfortably beating David De Gea.
