Even though his January Transfer to Arsenal was met with a degree of dismissal, Mohamed Elneny has quickly made an impact for the Gunners. In the last two months since making his debut for the club, Elneny has claimed the Arsenal Player of the Month award twice and been one of the strongest contributors to the team’s success. Now that he’s established himself as a starter, Elneny believes his best is yet to come.
Following Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Man City in which he recorded an assist to Olivier Giroud, Elneny declared that he keeps improving and expects to get a win next time.
‘I’ve improved my mentality and did what I could, hopefully the best is yet to come,’ Elneny said following the match that ensured Arsenal’s Champions League qualification.
‘We came here for a win, but unfortunately didn’t but hopefully we’ll win the next game.
‘We did what we could and thank God we got a point.
‘We played against a big team and hopefully the next match we will get a win.’
Arsenal acquired Elneny in a £7.4 million transfer deal with FC Basel, making him the second and first-team transfer pickup of the summer after goalkeeper Petr Cech.
Elneny recorded the only goal for Arsenal during their two-leg Champions League clash with Barcelona back in March – his first goal for the club.
