Tottenham star confirms that Spurs will be watching Leicester bout as Foxes inch closer to title

Speaking in the aftermath of Tottenham Hotspur‘s 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Saturday, Harry Kane has admitted that he and his teammates will be watching their rivals Leicester City in action on Sunday.

While a draw at Anfield is an admirable result, particularly considering how Spurs fell behind to Philippe Coutinho’s opener before responding when Kane buried Christian Eriksen’s fine pass past Simon Mignolet.

The draw takes Spurs up to 62 points after 32, and while the point edges them closer to leaders Leicester, Kane and his teammates will be aware that should the Foxes defeat Southampton on Sunday to move up to 69 points with only six games to play, their lead may be unassailable.

Kane has admitted that he and his teammates will be watching the Leicester Game and—predictably—cheering on the Saints!

“We are fighting for the Premier League,” Kane began, in quotes relayed by the Mirror. “We will watch the Leicester game and hope Southampton can get a result and do us a favour. We have done what we can do.”

While Southampton demonstrated their class to see off Liverpool 3-2 before the international break, despite falling 2-0 down during the first half, the Saints will be outsiders on Sunday.

Leicester appear to be marching inexorably towards the title and showing no sign of faltering, managing to scrape out results and secure victories even when they are not at their exhilarating best.

The Foxes are unbeaten in their last five, having conceded just two goals and keeping four clean sheets during that impressive run.
