Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez has reportedly gained the attention of Arsenal would could be preparing a summer bid for the influential playmaker.

The 25-year-old has scored 14 Premier League goals so far this season, with the Foxes still defying the odds and sitting top of the standings with 11 games remaining.

Furthermore, he has added 10 assists to his season’s work, which in turn has contributed to several clubs from around Europe monitoring his progression with a view of potentially making a move in the summer.

According to ESPN FC, Arsenal are continuing to watch the Algerian international closely, and will be ready to snap him up should he decide to leave the King Power Stadium at the end of the campaign.

Mahrez signed a new deal with Leicester at the start of the season which keeps him at the club until 2019, but his improvements have ensured that the club are preparing for substantial offers in the summer.

With Claudio Ranieri undoubtedly hoping to keep his squad in place as much as possible for next season, the Italian tactician will be aware of the appeal of playing for the top clubs and will arguably have to focus on identifying viable replacements.

Nevertheless, that will all likely come in the summer, as Ranieri, Mahrez and the rest of the Leicester squad continue their pursuit of history by winning an unlikely League Title this season.
