Arsene Wenger must keep Arsenal’s focus as they head to Manchester City after disappointing defeat

Last night Arsenal lost to Everton, as well as losing their cool, ground in the title race and their fantastic unbeaten run. Now they must take a deep breath and ensure that they don’t lose their nerve.

Arsene Wenger’s men came into the game off three big wins at West Ham, Basel and Stoke, and facing an Everton team that hadn’t won since October.

But the Toffees looked super revved-up in front of their own fans, and put in a huge shift to overcome Arsenal’s opening goal.

What is important now, especially with a trip to Manchester City next on the agenda, is that the Gunners don’t panic or let this one loss get to them. They have still had an exceptional start to the season and are in touch with Chelsea who are doing record-breakingly well.

There were worrying signs at half time that some of the Gunners players were losing their cool as there were skirmishes with Everton players in the tunnel heading in. Arsene Wenger must get this under control immediately and refocus his team’s energy on this weekend’s game, rather than letting them dwell on this disappointment.
