Spanish sports paper Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Portuguese superagent Jorge Mendes is preparing to broker another deal for Manchester United, and it sounds like another Jorge special.
This time it’s Atletico Madrid’s Bernard Mensah who has been linked with a move to the Red Devils.
The attacking midfielder signed for Atletico this summer, and is on loan at Vitoria Guimares for the season. He was on loan at Getafe last season, and has not made a league start for either club, or for his parent club, excluding preseason games.
Despite his obvious potential, it does seem strange that a player who is already 21 and still unable to break into the starting lineup of a midtable Portuguese team would be linked with such a high-profile move to England. However if there’s one thing we’ve learned over the years, it’s that you should never be surprised by anything transfer related when it comes to Jorge Mendes.
