There are other sneakers from non-Nike and non-Jordan brands dropping this weekend, but it honestly doesn’t matter. Thanks to their masterful marketing, the swoosh has once again worked their magic to not just make Air Max Day a daylong celebration of their groundbreaking tech, but a monthlong affair. It culminates on the 26th with the release of the future, the Nike Air VaporMax. This week’s Buy, Pass, Wait is almost all about the Air and its many forms, but we also talk about a few other releases like Air Jorda… wait, that has Air.
Nike Air VaporMax Pure Platinum

Juan Martinez, Editor-In-Chief: (PASS) I was blown away by the VaporMax from the moment I put on the shoe that it instantly became one of the Air Max shoes of all the times. The VaporMax is an instant buy… once I find a colorway that I know I can’t live without. I can’t wait for the Nike’s many, many crazy uses of the Flyknit upper on the VaporMax.
Renz Ofiaza, News: (WAIT) I’m a fan of the new model and it’s pretty solid in tonal finishes. I prefer the upcoming black version more, but I’ll consider picking this up for a lower price, if it doesn’t sell out.
Andres Carrillo, News: (WAIT) The VaporMax captures my attention, but I definitely need to check them out in person and try them on before I even think about buying a pair. The new midsole/outsole looks so futuristic. My only concern is that they won’t look good casually.
Juan Carrillo, News: (WAIT) I like the new Air Max model. It seems like Nike has the intention of making this shoe available al year-long. I’m not in a rush to buy it because I’d like to see it in person first, but if they end up being as good as I think they are, I’d love to own a couple of colorways in the near future.
Nike Air Max 1 Master

EIC Juan: (PASS) The white Friends and Family colorway is so much better, it’s not even funny. I’ve all but blocked out the black colorway that’s dropping this weekend out of my memory, it’s so unappealing.
Renz: (BUY) I missed out on the Atmos Elephant, so this is the next best rendition of the Air Max 1 to buy. I’m too biased towards the style and I really like how the theme was only placed on the mudguard.
Andres: (BUY) I’d buy if I had the opportunity, but I know I won’t. I’m hearing that this is one of the most limited Air Max Day releases. I’m disappointed in you Nike. Why can’t you just make enough for everyone. How can we celebrate Air Max Day if we can’t buy what we want?
News Juan: (BUY) Real needs. Aside from the Atmos 1s, this has become the only other Air Max drop I need this year. My love for the shoe has grown exponentially day by day. I’m pretty sure many people on here have that same sentiment towards this colorway. It’s a beautiful shoe and I’m already saving it a spot as one of the top 10 sneakers of the year.
Air Jordan 4 Motorsport
EIC Juan: (WAIT) I passed on copping these early at NBA All-Star Weekend, but now that it’s finally here, now might be the time to finally make the leap… or I could just wait for the price to drop which seems like an inevitability here.
Renz: (PASS) It’s an appealing pair for sure, although, I’m not that really into it. Maybe if it’ll be available at a lower price, I’ll think about it.
Andres:(PASS) I don’t really get the hype over these (if there’s still any). I think this shoe is one of those instances where people wanted what they couldn’t have, but now that it’s actually releasing people don’t seem to want them as much as they thought they did. I’m a big fan of 4s, but these don’t do anything for me.
News Juan: (PASS) Eh. This one’s kind of like the Royalty 4s. When I first heard they were going to drop, I really wanted, needed a pair. As time passed by, my interest for the shoe dwindled down. It’s a cool colorway, but it’s not something I feel like I need to own. I have plenty of 4s in my collection, I don’t think I need this one. If they drop under $150 I’d consider, but for $190 plus tax, I’m good.
Nike Basketball Time To Shine Pack (Pick One)

EIC Juan: (Nike Kobe A.D. Time To Shine Nike LeBron 14) I don’t care it’s not dropping this weekend, Mamba for the win. Actually, the LeBron 14 looks amazing in white with the luminious swoosh so I’ll probably go with that.
Renz: (Nike PG 1) I’m all for that stealthy finish. I would’ve chosen the Kyrie 3 but that multicolor outsole ruined it for me. The PG 1 is one of the better designed bball sneakers lately and I’m a fan.
Andres: (Nike PG 1) I’d have to go with the PG 1. Even though it already released, it’s the best shoe from the collection. Plus the fact that it’s all-black makes it easy to wear. We need more PG 1 colorways Nike!!!
News Juan: (Nike PG 1) Come on, man. Did you even have to ask? I held off on them initially till I found out what my true size was. Now that I know I have to get up half a size, I’d love to add this PG 1 to my collection.
What Are You Wearing For Air Max Day?
EIC Juan: (Nike Air Max 90 Ultra Flyknit Multicolor) I wasn’t able to get the close to the OG colorway (Bright Crimson is Infrared adjacent), but saying a multicolor is a consolation prize is not the worst thing in the world.
Renz: (Nike Air Max 1 SP Patch) I wish it would’ve been the AM 1 Atmos Elephant or hopefully the AM 1 Master. But so far, it’ll be the Air Max 1 SP Patch in Sand. I love that color and model, haha.

Andres: Haven’t really thought about it. But if I don’t break out the Air Max 1 atmos Elephant then I’ll probably go with the Air Max 90 OG Infrared. Either way, I can’t go wrong with either pair.

News Juan: Damn. Hadn’t thought about that. It will be between the classic Infrared 90s or the modern classic Flyknit Max Multicolor. You can’t go wrong with either, right?
