Huskers Look to Clinch Series Against Spartans

Nebraska looks to win their fourth league game in a row

After an impressive victory yesterday, Nebraska will try and clinch the series against Michigan State on Mother's Day. Nebraska with a win would pass the Spartans in the standings this afternoon. Matt Waldron gets the nod for the Huskers while converted closer Joe Mockbee takes the bump for Michigan State.

Forr the Huskers, Jeff Chesnut will look to set a school record as he needs only one more Appearance on the mound to set a new mark for Career Appearances. Steve Hale and Chesnut are currently tied with 87 career appearances for the Huskers.

Chesnut may not be needed with how Matt Waldron has been pitching of late. Waldron who came back from injury last weekend, allowed just a single run in his last appearance. While Waldron has been sharp, Mockbee has been just as sharp. Mockbee has not allowed an opponent to record more than two runs in conference play so far this season.

Sunday, May 8 (12:05 p.m. CT)
Probable Starters: RHP Waldron (5-1) vs. LHP Mockbee (1-0
TV: None
