Nebraska travels to Rutgers for the first time in program history
Coming off back to back wins, Nebraska will look to make it three in a row this afternoon as they travel to Piscataway to face off against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Derek Burkamper looks for his second consecutive quality start, while Howie Bray will look to throw his fourth complete game of the season against Nebraska.
Rutgers has two hitters to keep an eye on. Mike Carter and R.J. Devish are the only Rutgers hitters batting over .300. Devish gets on base at a .534 clip thanks to a team high 33 walks. Carter was a preseason player to watch, and has not disappointed hitting .395 on the season.
Bray is a dangerous pitcher who has made a jump from last season. Bray leads the Big Ten with 72.1 innings pitched, and is fifth with 61 strikeouts. Behind Bray, the Rutgers bullpen has a couple of nice pieces in Ryan Flemming and Max Herrmann. Flemming has .92 ERA, while Herrmann is the closer, leading the team with five saves.
