The former Husker wingback and current Wyoming dad gets real with Ryan and Pat.
Here’s a thing: Tweedy and I don’t always see eye to eye. He’s one of my best friends, and we’ve known each other for 15 years, but none of that stops us from having some truly differing opinions and very loud conversations. Not even his wife, who truly HATES our arguments. And that’s great. We know each other and respect each other well enough to be able to discuss things on which we disagree.
I want Husker Nation to be that same way. We’re a large group of people, which inevitably leads to varying opinions. That’s perfect because I already know that there will be varying opinions on the very warm (some may say hot) takes former Husker Clester Johnson provided on the Cobcast. I know this because the people I’ve talked to since our interview with Clester have had opinions on his opinions. Some in agreement. Some in disagreement. And again, that’s great.
Clester, who was a wingback for the Big Red from 1991 to 1995, talks about everything from the 90s dominance to his son’s recruitment to Tom Osborne and Mike Riley to the engagement of former players to the program.
Clester was insightful, opinionated and honest, all traits we love here at the Cobcast. We loved picking his brain, and he loves trying to help save brains (seriously, his new business is designed to cure the symptoms of concussions).
