The Jacksonville Jaguars once again paid out a lot of money in the NFL free agency period, handing a big time Deal to veteran defensive lineman Calais Campbell. The deal does give some fans a little bit of sticker shock, because on face value it's a four-year deal for $60 million with $30 million guaranteed, including a $6.5 million Signing Bonus.

As mentioned with the A.J. Bouye contract, when you look under the hood it's the standard Jaguars two-year free agent deal.

Since some people were a bit confused with the Bouye breakdown, like Bouye all of Campbell's guaranteed money is paid out in the first two years. His base salary for 2017 and 2018 are both guaranteed ($24M) with the signing bonus being amortized over the four years, making it a total of $30 million in the first two years.

Unlike Bouye's insanely small Cap Hit for 2017, Campbell's is more in line what you would expect in a front loaded deal, with his cap hit spiking in 2018 and staying relatively high in 2019, but offering enough cap savings where if his play falls off you can move on.
