A coffin in the corner, ghoulish screams and a Ghostly spectre floating down the stairs – how would you feel about spending the evening in a haunted pub? Well that’s just what we did with our client Old Speckled Hen to launch a brand new limited-edition Halloween ale, Old Spirited Hen, and showcase their Spooky short film, which captured unsuspecting pub goers as they encountered a series of ghostly going-ons at one of the UK’s reportedly most haunted pubs, the Old English Inn’s Red Lion in Avebury.
The Halloween party offered media the chance to celebrate the spooky season while sampling the enchanting toffee apple ale, with crisp fruit notes from the addition of delicious apple liqueur.
Before the party even started, the day begun with Popcorn hand-delivering samples to key media, including the likes of Zoo, FHM, Esquire, GQ, Good Housekeeping and Men’s Health, and we weren’t alone. Accompanying one of our Popstars was the very ghost who appeared in Old Spirited Hen’s spooky short film, which ensured there were plenty of photo opportunities for the unsuspecting journalists.
Throughout the campaign, product coverage was secured in and on the likes of the Daily Star, Metro Online and Staffordshire Living, with a Mail Online exclusive secured, offering their 200million plus strong readers the opportunity to see behind the scenes of the short film and hear more about the brand new addition to the much-loved Old Speckled Hen ale family.
