We can win in Moscow

Good morning folks and it is a good morning to be a Spurs fans with us sitting second in the table and one of only two unbeaten sides in the Premier League and one of three including the Football leagues.

Tottenham, manchester City, who we play after our UEFA Champions League trip to Russia and Bradford City in League One are the countries three unbeaten sides.

I received a Tweet from a Manchester United fan that set me thinking.

There is an element among our own fans, let alone everyone else I feel, who are not taking us seriously. Some don't see us as perhaps belonging in the top four and still look at us as the fifth-placed side. That is exactly the mentality that Mauricio Pochettino has had to tackle at Spurs.

The club had a mental barrier, our fans had and some still have a mental barrier. Speaking to the press after the Middlesbrough victory he spoke about the club needing to have belief, the very belief that you see derided elsewhere.

To succeed in anything there are steps to follow, there is a formula and belief forms a major part of that. Those that know how to achieve success use it, those that don't will try to tell you it doesn't work, Leicester City players have shown them to be wrong.

To be successful we have to think like a successful club, act like a successful club, have the expectation of a successful club. That is the point Kyle Walker was making when he said we could win all the trophies.

If you think you are inferior, then you are. That will affect your thinking, your actions and your outcomes. In football that means losing. All you are mentally doing is preparing to fail.

Such thought processes have no place at Tottenham now. Players with limiting beliefs are being replaced by young players who buy into the Pochettino philosophy, the success philosophy.

The fear of dropping points mean clubs do not play youngsters, well we have thrown that out of the window. Pochettino tells the press we must show belief in youngsters, it helps them believe in themselves.

The fact that Spurs are perhaps still going under the radar in the media takes some of the pressure off. Inside the game, from opposition managers, i think we are perceived rather differently, I think we are perceived as a real threat.

Next up is CSKA and we are perfectly capable of going there and getting the win we need. I can't wait for the next game and then the next. It is simply a pleasure to watch this side play.
