Young Champ Signs With Wasserman And Turns Pro

The 22 year old Cameron Champ stormed the golf scene when we captured the attention of the world during the 2017 U.S. Open. The Sacramento native turned heads during his first major appearance when he out drove the entire field with a staggering tournament average of 337.3 yards per drive and was just two shots off the lead heading into moving day at Erin Hills. Champ was one of two amateurs to make the cut and finished at even-par for the tournament.

Golf Digest Champ said that “Before the U.S. Open, I wasn’t even thinking about [turning pro].”

The young phenom ranks second in Golfweek’s National Men’s Amateur Rankings and will make his debut at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba this week. Champ will play the same sticks as his amateur days swinging Ping clubs and wearing Nike apparel. I anticipate that all of the major golf companies will court Champ for an endorsement deal.

“I am ready to take the next step in my career,” said Champ. Keep an eye out for Cameron Champ to become a star on the PGA Tour.
