Shabbat Shalom: Friday Wrap-up (1/6/2017)

Welcome to 2017 and the heart of signing season for NFL agents hoping to represent the best of the best entering the 2017 NFL Draft. Speaking of the NFL, this is a very important season for those of us who grew up in South Florida (there are not many of us). The Miami Dolphins have made the playoffs for the first time in almost a decade. It certainly overshadows the Miami Heat being one of the worst teams in the NBA. Don’t even try to contact me on Sunday, because my eyes will be glued to the TV watching a game against the Steelers that no one believes the Dolphins have a chance of winning. Quick thanks to Daily Fantasy Sports for showing us love this week.

This week on Forbes:
(1) Miami Dolphins Tickets Priced Highest In Eight Years For Patriots Game;
(2) This Week In Sports Law: Athletic Director PAC, Russia Doping, DFS Update;
(3) Jabrill Peppers Going Pro With Jimmy Sexton As Agent; and
(4) Teez Tabor Turns Pro With First Round Management Representation.

And as always, the weekly wrap-up:

Football

  • King to Rosenhaus, Johnson to Sportstars [Iowa CB Desmond King, DT Jaleel Johnson sign with sports agencies ahead of NFL draft].
  • I guess Weezy still wants to be a sports agent [Lil Wayne Signs LSU’s Duke Riley to Young Money APAA Sports].
  • Let’s see if Peppers is being honest here [Jabrill Peppers refutes claim that he is going Pro with Jimmy Sexton as agent].
  • Signed with Bus Cook [Former Texas Southern WR Griffin to declare for NFL Draft].

Baseball

  • Young arm is not yet arbitration eligible [Aaron Sanchez Hires Boras Corporation].

Basketball

  • Former NBA agent Odell McCants is launching a podcast to provide tips and advice on sports biz [Beyond The Whistle].
