Leicester could become embroiled in a battle with Manchester City for the services of Aldershot Town's teenage striker Idris Kanu.
The 17-year-old Nigerian starlet has already flirted with Premier League clubs in his fledgling career after starting out at the West Ham academy and also being given a brief trial stint at Manchester United in October.
Kanu struggled to make a sufficient impact to be handed terms by either club but is now doing his talking on the pitch with the National League 'Shots, where he has scored three goals to date.
His most recent goal against Boreham Wood earlier this month was described as a 'sublime solo effort' which has again alerted some of the bigger fish to return and keep an eye on his progress.
Aldershot boss Gary Waddock recently tied Kanu down to a two-year deal and has pledged to help the youngster develop his attacking game.
The decision to offer him terms could prove to be a masterstroke as representatives from both the Foxes and City were in attendance at Saturday's game against Chester City.
Both clubs are believed to be interested in taking Kanu into their respective youth ranks which, in turn, would see Aldershot compensated with vital funds if he makes the move.
