After taking a 2-1 defeat to Levante in the first-leg of the Copa del Rey last week, Barcelona have progressed to the next round of the competition, thanks to two goals from Luis Suarez and another from Lionel Messi.
The match was relatively for Barcelona, but controversy has continued to trail them since the first-leg og the game.
Barca manager, Ernesto Valverde, played B team defender Chumi who was suspended for the B team.
Sections of the RFEF rule book has led to the legal debate regarding the interpretations of the rule book.
One code says short suspensions (three games or less) must only apply in the same competition, which in this case would be a league match and not the Cup.
However, another article of the code forbids player from a subsidiary team, like Barcelona B, sanctioned at that level, from playing for the club at any other level.
Levante submits complaint
According to Mundo Deportivo, the deadline for the submission of a complaint was last Monday, which has already elapsed.
But there’s room for the reopening of the case and a final decision made.
Levante president,Quico Catalan, had already confirmed the club would be filing an official complaint.
And a tweet from their official Twitter handle has revealed the complaint has been lodged.

Meanwhile, Barca spokesperson, Josep Vives, defended the club: “We understand that we chose Chumi correctly. We believe that we are right and that our interpretation of the norm is correct.
“We understand that Chumi is a player who is licensed to play in Segunda Division B with Barça B and simultaneously can also play with the first team.”
“When there is a sanction it must comply with the corresponding license, i.e. in Segunda Division B.”
