Sevilla fans could not believe their eyes over the weekend as they saw their team get humiliated at the hands of Barcelona last weekend.

Even more worrying was the fact that hours later and pictures of midfielder Steven N’Zonzi hit the media.

The Sevilla midfielder played the entire 90 minutes of the match against Barcelona and was very ineffective during the game.

But the picture that emerged of N’Zonzi showed him in a Madrid night club called Opium.

Fans vented their frustration and anger, with the player now tendering an apology.

“I want to apologise to the fans, I made a mistake by going out after the game,” explained N’Zonzi.

“It is difficult for everyone, also for us, we are not happy with what happened yesterday and it is necessary to understand that for a player it is very difficult mentally to play every three days.

“I for example live on my own, I am on my own at home, I go to training, return, rest, have a siesta, always at home. Yesterday I was with my family and my friend and I went out because I though that health is the most important thing in life.”
