The transfer of Ousmane Dembele has taken a fresh twist on Monday as Borussia Dortmund has moved to thrash out the details of the deal as soon as possible.
According to German outlet Bild, Dortmund has issued a fresh ultimatum to Barcelona to close the deal for Dembele.
Dembele is Barcelona’s number one target to fill the shoes of Neymar who left the club this summer.
Dortmund are quoted as saying: “Either you agree to pay the amount we ask for Dembélé until Sunday, August 27 or there is no transfer possible.”
The initial deadline was set at August 26 and the new date gives Barcelona one extra day.
It appears Dortmund are also trying to secure their future and do not want to drag the transfer until August 31.
Dembele is still suspended by the German club and Dortmund CEO, Watzke, has said the Frenchman is in France and has not communicated to them about his suspension.
