James Rodriguez has ended his three-year stay at the Santiago Bernabeu with a move to Bayern Munich this summer.
The Colombian joined Carlo Ancelotti’s team on an initial two-year loan deal, with an option to make it permanent.
And his departure left an iconic Number available in the team- the Real Madrid number 10. The number has been recently worn by players like Mesut Ozil and Robinho.
With the changes in that have taken place in the team, it was only reasonable for Real Madrid to do a bit of reshuffling with the squad numbers.
They have four new arrivals so far- Theo Hernandez, Borja Mayoral, Marcos Llorente and Dani Ceballos. All four were given their squad numbers and Luka Modric has now taken up the No. 10.
The Croatian had previously won the No. 19 in his previous seasons at the Bernabeu. And he now takes up the same number he wears with the Croatian national team.
Modric, 31, has been incredible since moving to Real from Tottenham in 2012. And has won the La Liga crown as well as three Champions League trophies.

Modric has arguably become the best midfielder in the world since leaving Tottenham for Real in 2012, and Real fans are hopeful he can end the ‘curse’ that has come with number ten shirt in recent times:
