Barcelona and Bayern Munich have done their first piece of business of the summer.
Even though the deal is yet to be officially confirmed by either club, reports from Catalonia say Bayern have reached a deal to sign Barcelona youngster Mateu Morey.
The left-back is relatively unknown to fans outside the club, but his departure is a big loss to Barcelona. In fact, it is another big shock for La Masia after the previous exits of Jordi Mboula and Eric Garcia.
Spanish radio RAC 1 first broke the news through journalist Gerard Romero and Sport have confirmed it.
The Bundesliga club would pay Barcelona 3 million euros for the 17-year-old. Mateu was one fo the players that stood out for Spain in their U17 European Championships triumph earlier this year.
He has spent the last two previous seasons playing at Barcelona;s U19 B (Juventile B) team. And the club had promoted him to the U19 A (Juvenile A) team from next season.
The full-bacl has shown incredible talent and the Germans are pleased with his scouting report. He had a good season and after the U17 European championships, a number of clubs had been in contact with him.
He is the thrid big name to leave the club’s yputh system and they may be more departures in the next two months.
