Marco Verratti interrupted his holiday in Ibiza to head back to Paris for showdown talks with PSG.

According to French publication, L’Equipe, the midfielder met with club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and newly appointed sporting director, Antero Henrique.

The result of the meeting was bad news for the player and Barcelona. Verratti and his agent, Donato Di Campli, were told once again that they are not going to let him leave.

PSG chiefs are still unwilling to give the green light for his departure. The meeting held for over one hour were they tried to thrash out reports that have been circulating in the media.

However, Al-Khelaifi told the player that he remained a key part of the club’s plans considering he was still just 24-years-old.

Verratti has a contract with the club until 2021, but was offered fresh terms with more money. As revealed earlier, the contract was turned down and reports said it was worth €12 million per season.

The Italian has now returned to Ibiza, Spain, to continue his vacation and ponder his next move. Lawyers have already been enlisted as they try to look for a loophole help him force a transfer without breaking the rules.
