Barcelona’s transfer plans affected by Salah’s move to Liverpool as agent tips transfer target to join Roma

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Mahamed Salah who joins them for a fee £39million deal from Roma. The deal officially goes through on 1 July when the Transfer window opens.

His departure now means the Italian club have to get a replacement, and it appears the Italians have turned to Gerard Deulofeu.

The 23-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at AC Milan. He put in a brilliant performance for the Serie A team and was back in Barcelona’s options as a possible arrival this summer.

The Spaniard joined Everton in 2015 from Barcelona are a series of loan spells.

But Barcelona inserted a buy-back option in the deal taking him to Everton. And with Everton not wanting to keep Deulofeu next season and Barcelona, his former club, have first refusal.

Should Barcelona take up that option which expires after June 30, they would pay just 12 million euros.

But Deulofeu’s agent Gines Carvajal says the playmaker would be the perfect fit in the Italian capital.

“Everything remains to be seen, but Roma are a great club and an option,” Carvajal told Romanews Radio.

Barcelona would have to act fast if they are serious in landing their former player.

As for Everton, they have already signed Davy Klaassen, Jordan Pickford and Sandro Ramirez this summer.

Gylfi Sigurdsson remains a target, while Ross Barkley’s future is still unclear.
