Barcelona are still exploring their options to strengthen their attack down the wing.
New manager Ernesto Valverde appears to favor a style of game that makes use of wide players. And one of such ideal players the club have targeted has been Ousmane Dembele.
Barcelona were interested in him in the summer of 2016. The Frenchman still played for Rennes and didn’t see the possibility of playing ahead of the MSN.
Borussia Dortmund succeeded in securing his services for a rumored 15 million euros. And after an impressive season with six goals and 12 assists for Dortmund, he is back on Barcelona’s radar.
Reports from Spain and Germany say an agreement has already been reached between Barcelona and Dembele. A meeting was allegedly held with his agent Moussa Sissoko where personal terms were agreed.
But Dortmund Sporting Director, Michael Zorc, has insisted the club are not going to sell.
“Ousmane Dembele has a long-term contract and he is in our plans. There are no negotiations. Ous will play for BVB next season,” Zorc told Funke-Mediengruppe.
