One of the player who took the heat from Barcelona’s comeback against PSG is Marco Verratti. The midfielder was virtually nonexistent in Barcelona’s win at the Camp Nou.
His performance was a sharp contrast to his performance on Valentine’s day when the Barcelona lost in Paris.
And in the aftermath of the loss, the French media came hard on Verratti and Matuidi. A report said the duo visited a nightclub just two night before the knockout game with Luis Enrique’s side that they lost 6-1
It generated furious reactions from both the club and Verratti’s agent, Donato Di Campli. “The president has reaffirmed his will to create a great team. But it’s true too that my phone doesn’t stop winning. If anything like this happens again, we will have to think seriously.” Di Campli said.
Di Campli also hinted the they were considering taking legal action against L’Equipe who were the first to release the story.
Marco Verratti takes L’Equipe to court over clubbing publication
Verratti’s lawyer, Carlos Alberto Brusa, has now confirmed that the they would be meeting L’Equipe in court. They have debunked the claims and insisted the player was at home with his wife and child on that night.
It is still unclear how much in damages they would be seeking over the report that questioned the Italian’s professionalism.

Good news for Barcelona.
While the Italian has been slandered in Paris, Barcelona would be very happy to have him. And he appears to be the right fit in the center for the Blaugranas.
The Catalans have long been interested in the Italian who they see as a replacement for Iniesta and Xavi. Xavi left the club in 2015, while Iniesta nears retirement.
And for the first time, he appears ready to listen to offers. Di Campli has confirmed that his phone has been ringing from clubs who want to take him up.
