Romelu Lukaku dropped the bombshell on Tuesday that he going to turn down a new Everton contract and leave the club.
The Belgian has been key to Everton’s campaign season after season. But the club’s lack of European football and turning down some transfer targets are reasons behind his decision.
A new five-year deal was in the works for Lukaku with wages of £130,000-a-week. It would have made the striker the first ever Everton player to earn more than £100,000-a-week.
At the center of it all is his agent Mino Raiola who would negotiate a possible move. The Dutch super agent had claimed his client was ‘99.999 per cent’ likely to sign a new Everton deal.
However, with is latest announcement, Chelsea became alerted and a rumored return was on the cards.
Romelu Lukaku could join Manchester United
But recent pictures indicate that he could join Jose Mourinho at Manchester United instead. Pictures from Sportsmail show Railoa entering a Manchester United’s Lowry hotel.
Mourinho and his team are currently staying there ahead of their Europa League game against Rostov.
Raiola also represents players like Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan who all moved to Old Trafford last summer.
