It turns out Barcelona are not only in search of adding new players but have already started looking for Luis Enrique’s replacement.
The Asturian’s current deal with Barcelona ends in the summer and until now, no word has been heard of contract talks.
Up until the Christmas break, Enrique refused to answer questions about his future. And when asked about his new deal he responded: “Well, the truth is that I don’t know,”
According to Sportsitalia via SPORT, Everton boss Ronald Koeman has already been contacted about a possibilty of a job opening at Barcelona. He joined Everton this season but would be more than ready to leave them for Barcelona if the opportunity presents itself.
Like Enrique, Koeman is also a former Barcelona player and spent more years at Barcelona (1989 to 1995) than any other club in his professional career.
He had previously worked as an assistant manager with Barcelona for about two years, and his intentions on coaching Barcelona one day has never been hidden.
