Feared across Europe, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made a name for himself in the game.
He began tearing up defenses from his little Swedish town, Malmo, and then made his big move to Ajax.
From then on, the rest of Europe was alerted to his abilities that saw him play for teams like Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain and now Manchester United.
Winning is all Zlatan is used to and he rightly deserves all the respect for conquering in every country. But one player who has also conquered the game is Lionel Messi, even though many are skeptical about his chances outside Barcelona and La Liga.
However, the 35-year-old who witnessed Messi firsthand at Barcelona, is certain the Argentine would be just as good in the Premier League.
“I think it’s two different players in the way of styles and the way of playing,” he told ESPN.
“I’m the one that went around and conquered different countries; he’s the one who has stayed in one place for many years and has been amazing. If he can do it there, he can do it anywhere because he’s that kind of player that loves football.
“He loves the game so much [that] he wouldn’t have trouble performing like he is doing in Barcelona, worldwide.”
On Messi’s lack of success at the national level, Ibrahimovic added: “I think we should be appreciating — especially in Argentina — that they have a player like that and they should enjoy him while he’s playing because he’s a beautiful [player].”
