Changes to George Mason’s non-conference schedule

via @masonmbb

A lot seems to still be in up in the air for the 2020-21 college basketball season. We still don’t know how many games George Mason will play at EagleBank Arena and we still don’t know if fans will be allowed to attend. Their previously booked early season tournament in the Bahamas, where they would have faced BYU, was canceled. That would have been their marquee matchup in the non-conference slate.

Now we are hearing some updates as Mason begins their first official day of practice. It appears Maryland is now on the docket and they will also compete in a multi-team event with UMBC, Howard, and Northeastern:

Maryland won’t be great this year but any time we get to see Mason play them is a good thing for the program. It will still be an excellent test for Mason who brings nearly everyone from last year’s squad. Howard is good to have on the schedule also since they landed five star recruit Makur Maker and will definitely present a challenge for Mason’s front court.
