George Mason gets late pickup from 2020 wing Otis Frazier III

Tuesday George Mason fans found out Justin Kier would not be returning to Fairfax next season and will officially transfer somewhere else. This leaves Mason with an open scholarship but they didn’t waste much time to fill it. Last night the team picked up a commitment from 6’6″ wing Otis Frazier III:

Frazier was originally from Arizona but opted to prep an additional year at Mt Zion Prep in Maryland and it certainly looks to have helped elevate his game. You can read more about that here.

Frazier has good size at 6’6″ 198 lbs and is known for his intensity on defense and ability to finish high above the rim. He definitely looks like he will bring a lot of energy to both ends of the court and often looks to attack the rim with ease while still possessing a solid three-point shot. He’s also a lefty.

The addition helps to soften the blow of losing Kier and will add depth with another versatile player. It looks like Frazier will bring a lot of athleticism and hopefully someone who fits into Paulsen’s defensive scheme.
