Joe Allen has officially become a Stoke City player after signing on the dotted line in a £13 million deal from Liverpool, rising to £15 million if Mark Hughes' side finish in the top ten this coming Season.
Speaking afterwards the Welshman said: ''It's been a whirlwind 48 hours for me but I am delighted to have finally been able to put pen to paper. I was really excited as soon as I heard of the club's interest and it wasn't a difficult decision for me to make. I am incredibly excited about my future here at Stoke City.''
There is no doubt that Wales exploits in France at Euro 16 and his performances during the tournament greatly helped to raise the profile of Allen in getting a move that he and Liverpool will both be satisfied about as Jurgen Klopp continues his changes at Anfield.
