STALEMATE AT ANFIELD AS MOURINHO DOES IT AGAIN

Liverpool drew with Man Utd at Anfield as Jose Mourinho's negative tactics were on display yet again, this time in the colours of Man Utd.

Liverpool went into this game as favorites, having gone on a 6 game unbeaten run, scoring freely against Arsenal, Leicester and Hull along with others. A home victory would had lifted them into joint-top of the League had they won, it was not to be.

Jose Mourinho came up with another game-plan to thwart Jurgen Klopp's side: Defending in numbers, man for man marking, numerous dirty tackles and a typical negative approach from the Portuguese.

True, Liverpool did not start well and looked a bit over-awed by the occasion in the 1st half, no urgency, no attacking verve, stifled by the opposition, it had to get better than this.

In the 2nd half it did, less back passes, more aggression going forward and a few shots on goal by Can and Coutinho that, might on another day would have been goals.

Not to be, we dust ourselves down and go again against West Brom next Saturday.

How a young Steven Gerrard would have taken the game by the scruff of the neck, who knows.
