A lot of fans balk at the money side of the equation, but all Von Miller cares about is finding the next franchise quarterback to win some more Super Bowls.
Denver Broncos all-world Super Bowl MVP linebacker, Von Miller, has been aggressively pursuing/recruiting soon-to-be former Washington Redskins quarterback, Kirk Cousins. Many fans are asking why and the answer is pretty simple. He’s a franchise quarterback by every measure of what one looks for in a franchise quarterback.
Why is @VonMiller recruiting @[email protected]: 29-22 incl. playoffs since 2015 (10th-best) despite ranking 31st in passer rating
— NFL Research (@NFLResearch) February 13, 2018
NFL avg passer rtg is 88.8 since 2015 & DEN had 2nd-fewest games w/ such rtg (14)
Cousins passer rtg is 97.5 since 2015 (6th-best, 500+ att)
Miller looks at Cousins and sees a guy maybe not as great as Peyton Manning, but close enough. Close enough to put this veteran defense back in the saddle of contention.
And if these numbers don’t impress you, maybe getting a look at how Cousins ranks over the last three seasons to give a clearer picture of what an elite quarterback looks like in today’s NFL would help.
To sum up, Kirk Cousins key numbers (since he became full-time starter in 2015):
— Sayre Bedinger (@SayreBedinger) February 13, 2018
Games: 48 (T-1st)
Completion %: 67.02 (3rd)
Yards: 13,176 (4th)
TD passes: 81 (8th)
Rushing TD: 13 (3rd)
QB Rating: 97.5 (6th)
Is that worth top QB money to you? If not, guess idk what is.
Cousins did that with a shoddy offensive line in 2017 and a fairly bad defense every year he’s been the starter. In a Broncos uniform, he will instantly transform this franchise into a contender in the AFC.
It’s time to get on the Kirk Cousins to Denver train if you haven’t already boarded!
UPDATE:
People keep bringing up Cousins and his red zone struggles. I’m not sure where this myth began, but Cousins is actually elite in the red zone. His dominance is so good that it has been shocking that people keep trying to push this false narrative despite every stat suggesting otherwise.
Sayre Bedinger from Predominantly Orange faced similar struggles on Twitter with people who believed Cousins wasn’t very good where it mattered most and dropped these all-important stats to destroy this false narrative.
Kirk Cousins’ career in the RZ: 74 total TD, 5 INT, 95.8 rating.
Enough freaking said.
