Brandon McManus “disappointed” in his play so far

After key misses in each of Denver’s home games this year, Brandon Mcmanus is looking to get back on track.

Before this month, Brandon Mcmanus held the league record for consecutive field goals under 40 yards with 50 in a row without missing. He was coming off a brand new offseason contract and was poised to continue his dominance as one of the top kickers in the league.

Then, he missed an easy 29 yarder against the Raiders, and missed two key kicks Sunday night, bringing his miss total up to 5, as many kicks as he missed through 16 games last year.

It's safe to say McManus has been in a bit of a slump. So the guys from the Afternoon Drive talked with him today about his recent struggles.

"I'm disappointed so far in my performances. I've had a couple bad kicks, but you know I've always been able to bounce back at least one kick afterwards, so I've gotta build off that and continue to do what I've proven I can do."

Les Shapiro makes a good point that when most of Denver's games are close, one score games, a missed kick becomes huge. McManus, when on, is such a weapon for Denver. Hopefully he gets back on track soon.
